ParkBOI

Brand, Meter & Signage Design

Rethinking how people find parking in Downtown Boise.

PROBLEM

People exited their vehicles and clustered around parking meters. They murmured to one another. They pointed at the mysterious machine in front of them. They reached into their pockets as if to say, “Maybe something else will make it work?”

Their excursion started with frustration.

SOLUTION

A decal system with clear hierarchy. Critical information only. On the street side, how many hours can I park? On the sidewalk, how do I leave as fast as possible? 1-2-3 instructions with pictures of the actual buttons.

Parking is how they arrive. They don’t think about it.

PROBLEM

Parking signs were artistic. They would look great in a neon museum, but they blended into the city.

People couldn’t find parking.

SOLUTION

People already know what parking looks like. We built a logo and brand around that.

Make the sign about parking.
